Top Three Scenic Places to Plan Your Photoshoot in East Tennesse

Roan Mountain - Carvers Gap

Carver’s Gap on Roan Mountain in East Tennessee is absolutely incredible!

It boasts of 360 degree mountain views. When I say you could look in any direction and have an insane view, I mean it!! On arrival at Carver's Gap on Roan Mountain, you’ll park at the small lot right below the mountain. From there, you’ll hike up through a small field that will lead into a gorgeous dense forest. It’s moody in there, so make sure your photographer snaps some pictures if you’re a big fan of “the mood” like I am! After you get through the forest, you’ll continue hiking up the trail until you reach the top! It only took me around 15-20 minutes to get to the top, and it’s perfect to actually stop and grab pictures along the way, that way you’re not totally exhausted at the end!

When you reach the top, it.is.incredible.

There’s  literally a scenic mountain view in every direction. The only hard part is, deciding where you want to sit and soak it all in!

If you continue down the path, you’ll come across some really big boulders that you can take some epic pictures on. And if I’m your photographer, that’s exactly where we’ll go ;)

When the sun sets, it’s right behind one of the closer, big mountains. Every minute of the sun fading away makes the views even more spectacular. It’s one of my favorite spots, and the perfect location to mark your life right now in East Tennessee.

Beauty Spot, Unicoi Tennessee

The Beauty Spot in Unicoi, Tennessee is probably one of the easiest accesses to a gorgeous view. You literally drive to the top and take a 5 minute walk up a hill. At the top you are rewarded with a vast overlook of our beautiful mountains as well as wild rolling hills.

I personally love to take a blanket and picnic and just watch the sun set. And because it’s such an easy hike, you can sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery without feeling like you climbed Everest! I’ve even stayed until dark to watch all the stars come out. THAT is truly spectacular! Any direction you set up your camp chair or blanket to take in the views, is undeniably one of East Tennessee’s most beautiful scenic views.

Viking Mountain, Greeneville Tennessee

Viking Mountain in Greeneville Tennessee is another fantastic option for mountain views. It’s a bit of a drive to get up the mountain, but honestly, unless it’s a snowstorm, my normal vehicle can make it to the top, no problem!

Once you come to the very end of the road, there’s a small spot to park your car. The initial view is actually beautiful! But where the real adventure begins is a quick 20 minute hike to the Blackstack Cliffs. The views from the cliffs that overlook all of Greene County and beyond are STUNNING!

You can see for miles and miles! The cliffs aren’t really all that cliff-like either. So there’s actually plenty of room for you to lay out a blanket, eat a sandwich, and take in the most amazing views!
